MISSION STATEMENT

The New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Council has a dual mission-education and regulation. We are committed to providing high-quality, innovative, credible and responsive basic, advanced and specialized training to New Hampshire Police, Correctional, Probation and Parole officers in sufficient amounts to enable them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the public with commitment, empathy and competence. We are also committed to adopting and enforcing reasonable professional standards in a manner consistent with the law, considerate of the public and the regulated community, and uncompromising as to basic values and ethics. The mission of each employee and unit of the Council is to support and enhance these training and regulatory services. We will accomplish this by consistent application of shared values, and the use of cooperation, communication and teamwork to maintain an environment for learning and practice of the profession that is consistent, helpful and ethical.

VISION STATEMENT

It is the vision of the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council to be regarded by the citizens of New Hampshire, the law enforcement community, and our counterparts throughout the United States as operating on the leading edge of police, corrections and probation-parole officer training, and as incorruptible protectors or the integrity of the law enforcement community through sensible, value-driven and strict but compassionate enforcement of certification and compliance standards.

The Police Standards and Training Council subscribes to two core values – INTEGRITY and PROFESSIONALISM. Beneath each of these core values are eight subordinate values, as expressed in the chart below:
